Science on the Move
Creativity and Service (community-based) Experience
Description
My class (3B) enrolled in the Science on the Move project by SimplyScience in Switzerland a few weeks ago. The program is available for every 10-12 grade class in Switzerland and the classes that participate have to come up with an idea about a certain topic. This year the topic is smart systems. There are many tasks that have to be completed for submission, so the project asks for a lot of collaborative work and coordination between different students doing different tasks. At the end of the working period a paper describing the idea which the class came up with, a visualisation of the idea, and a video clip promoting the idea. Our idea is the concept of an efficiently working and environmentally friendly smart school. The submission is due on the first of April, although, if our class ranks in the top 10, we'll have to present the idea to a committee later on. I have taken up the role of team leader and will help with the communication between teachers and students as well as SOTM officials. In addition, I will write parts of the paper, work on the video and work on budget and marketing with a class student.

Mural Project

Description and Goals
A group of students at the GM have decided to paint a mural in our school. There are many steps involved in a project like this. Firstly, they had to find people to join their project. Then, they had to plan the whole thing; the design, a timeline, a goal. Then, they had to seek approval from the school. The next step in their project is to draw the actual mural.
This group of students have expressed their aim for their mural to spread positivity and reflect the atmosphere of the school.
Tutoring as an experience
Tutoring can and should be used as an experience for CAS. The service of helping children helps you develop skills such as problem-solving and communication. It is a great way to help other people with their struggles and at the same time improve your skills. It is a fun experience and has a lot of advantages.

Reflection 3
The GA (a.k.a. the General Assembly) is what everything builds up to, where every committee presents its resolutions. Our job is to find weak points to help them improve it and the job of the presenting committee is to defend or amend their resolution, and at the end, we decide if a resolution passes. Surprisingly, this session, every resolution had passed, although the debates did get quite heated from time to time. My committee went first as the presenting committee, which is terrifying because it feels like more pressure, but our resolution passed, which always feels like a big deal when you’re first because the more people pass in front of you the less special you feel. I, unfortunately, struggled with my anxiety and had two severe attacks during the GA, which weren’t helped by the fact that the connection was generally bad and I felt lost all the time because I couldn’t understand the others, but I still managed to make two points against other committees (even though I almost passed out right after). All in all, I had a lot of fun at the session and I enjoyed having my perspective broadened.

Reflection 1
The week before last week we finally finished taking all of the pictures. And the layout group was simultaneously doing the layout. I finished editing all of the pictures and uploaded them to our Onedrive. We were planning on printing the trial print the next week. When the layout group was done. The photo-taking went a lot longer than expected or planned, but I am really happy that we were able to finish. It took way longer than we had planned to take last year, but we should be able to finish the rest of it, print it out, and be able to sell it in time. Due to our good collaboration, the process somehow went on. There were a lot of times when we got into huge discussions and arguments of how this is wrong and that isn't how it is done, etc. But we somehow managed to work it out altogether and have gotten this far. I am hoping very strongly that the last part including the printing and selling will go as planned.
